Haute-Savoie property is a great investment, as France’s highest altitude department the Haute-Savoie is the dual-season destination par excellence with one of the largest ski areas in France for winter fun and the stunning Lakes Geneva and Annecy for beach and boating life in the summer.

Ski property in Chamonix (one of the oldest ski resorts) is highly sought after as it is at the very foot of Mont Blanc – the highest mountain in the Alps at 4,810m. Cheaper apartments and renovation projects can still be found in the outlying villages of the main ski resorts in both the Morzine and Châtel valleys in towns such as St Jean d’Aulps and Abondance.

The Haute-Savoie département is more than ‘just’ a world class skiing destination, the north borders Lake Geneva (Lac Léman) and gives residents quick access to this sophisticated Swiss city and its international airport. On the shores of Lake Geneva are the beautiful health and spa towns of Evian and Thonon, here too is the charming Yvoire – officially one of the most beautiful villages in France.

To the south west lies Annecy, the capital city and home to the third largest lake in France - Lake Annecy. This is officially the cleanest lake in France and at 14 km long it is the perfect base for all variety of water sports. The charming village of Talloires enjoys a particularly picturesque lakeside setting.

British Airways and Air France fly to Geneva and there are several daily Eurostar services from London’s beautifully restored St Pancras International to Geneva with a change at Paris. All ski resorts are about 1h30 from Geneva airport and Annecy is about an hour’s drive.
