Tucked away in a corner of L'Isle Jourdain, Vienne, in a quiet cul-de-sac, is this renovated stone cottage with parking, and attached garden with views. You enter a large country-style kitchen/diner, leading to a bathroom and light hallway with pretty cupboards, and on to a bright living room with beams, opening onto the terrace and garden. Upstairs, two bedrooms - a double-bedroom with ensuite shower room with WC, and a smaller bedroom also with a double-bed, plus a study (currently with a single bed). From the terrace you have pretty views of L'Isle Jourdain and the Vienne river valley. The house has double-glazing and most of the external walls are insulated. The house currently has no heating - the kitchen has a wood-fired range cooker (negotiable, cost 2500 €) which requires the addition of an insulated flue section in the attic, plus the flue attachment for the roof. The main part of the house has a new roof (2020, under guarantee), and the roof on the living room is 10 years old. The parking place for one car is directly in front of the house. Mains drains. There is some general maintenance to do around the house and property. ADSL internet. In the garden, there is a concrete shed in good condition, and a well. There are three café/restaurants a short walk away, and a further two in the town centre (10 minutes walk). L'Isle Jourdain has a bakery, large supermarket with petrol station, pharmacy, garage for car repairs, schools, doctors, dentist, DIY shop, hairdresser, bank, optician, garden centre, language school, swimming pool, tennis courts, kayaking, bungee jumping and zip-wires across the river. On each side of the town there is a reservoir. L'Isle Jourdain has a nice community, with groups for various interests.
