The French Notaire replaces the British solicitor in property transactions - but only one is necessary and he represents neither vendor nor buyer! You can, however, appoint your own English-speaking Notaire (anywhere in France) who will give you reassurance at every turn – at no extra cost to yourself. Choose from the bilingual notaires listed below and the notaire’s fees (fixed by national scale) will be divided 50/50 between the vendor’s notaire and your own.
